Job Description

The Wholesale Trade Salesman is responsible for promoting, selling, and distributing a wide range of goods to retailers, distributors, and business clients. The role involves maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets in a competitive wholesale trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell a variety of wholesale products to customers and business partners
  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities and potential clients
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business
  • Handle customer enquiries, quotations, and order processing
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for timely delivery of goods
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets set by management
  • Prepare sales reports and update management on business performance
  • Ensure proper documentation of sales transactions and customer records
  • Collect payments and follow up on outstanding accounts when required

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Secondary / High School education or equivalent
  • Prior experience in wholesale, trading, or sales preferred
  • Experience in general goods trading is an advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Good customer service and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet sales targets
  • Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, email, order systems)
  • Good understanding of wholesale market operations
  • Ability to handle multiple product categories
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and result-oriented

Other Requirements

  • Willing to travel for sales visits if required
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethics
