ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the overall operations, warehouse activities, resources, and business performance of the Johor branch.
- Ensure effective coordination between the Johor and Singapore teams to support operational requirements and customer expectations.
- Establish, develop, and strengthen the branch's customer base, supplier network, and operational capabilities to support sustainable business growth.
- Oversee daily operational activities, including vessel deliveries, logistics coordination, transportation, boarding operations, warehouse management, inventory control, and stock accuracy.
- Monitor branch performance, service levels, operational costs, profitability, and key performance indicators, and implement improvement initiatives where necessary.
- Manage relationships with customers, suppliers, service providers, and business partners, while resolving operational and service-related issues in a timely manner.
- Negotiate and manage transportation, logistics, warehousing, procurement, and other operational service agreements to achieve cost efficiency and operational excellence.
- Identify and drive business development opportunities, operational improvements, and cost optimisation initiatives to support branch growth.
- Lead, develop, and manage branch employees through effective manpower planning, performance management, coaching, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, regulatory requirements, and workplace safety standards.
- Manage branch budgets, expenses, operational reporting, and business forecasts.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Managing Director.
WORKING REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Operations Management, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in marine, offshore, ship supply, logistics, warehousing, or related industries, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven experience managing operational, warehouse, procurement, and customer-facing functions.
- Strong understanding of marine supply operations, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, procurement, and supply chain processes.
- Experience sourcing marine, offshore, industrial, or technical products and developing supplier networks will be an advantage.
- Strong commercial and business acumen with the ability to negotiate effectively, manage costs, improve profitability, and drive business growth.
- Experience supporting Singapore customers and coordinating cross-border operations between Singapore and Malaysia is preferred.
- Familiarity with RFQ processes, quotation evaluation, vendor management, tender submissions, and contract negotiations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, service providers, internal departments, and Singapore HQ.
- Hands-on, resourceful, and capable of working independently in a startup or expansion environment.
- Existing network within the marine, offshore, logistics, industrial, or ship supply sectors in Malaysia will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin will be an added advantage.
- Willing to travel between Malaysia and Singapore as required.
