Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the conceptualisation and design of research studies (including primary studies, desk review, etc.) on social issues relating to children and families, under the supervision of the Head of Research and Research Advisors.
- Candidate will be expected to execute responsibilities relating to data collection, data cleaning and analysis.
- Conceptualise the dissemination plan of studies together with Advocacy Unit, contribute to the dissemination plan including writing up and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with social service practitioners to evaluate programmes and services.
- Responsibilities include supporting the development of concept papers (TOC, logic model, needs analysis), proposal of suitable frameworks, methods and tools for programme evaluation, analysis of results, and contributing to reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Contribute to other team efforts, such as research newsletters, research grant, organizing of events.
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Honours Degree in Psychology / Sociology / Social Work or related discipline
- Past work experience is preferred
- Past research experience is required
i) Past research experience should be evident (e.g. RA, internship, thesis, peer-reviewed research publications)
ii) Candidate should have sound statistical knowledge and be proficient in using statistical software such as Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to conduct data analysis
iii) Prior experience in conducting programme evaluation and knowledge of social service sector preferred but not necessary - Keen interest in conducting research on social issues relating to children and families
- Willing to undertake different types of work
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Be comfortable working collaboratively in a team and in liaising with multiple parties
