Job Description

Position Purpose

The HR Business Partner will provide advisory support for an allocated business group(s) at the territory level to meet their strategic business and HR objectives. 

The incumbent will also work closely with Territory Head of Human Resources and designated Regional Business Partners for implementing regional and territory HR initiatives and policies in Singapore. The role requires the incumbent to provide general HR advice and support to the function/business assigned. 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

Business Partnering

  • Act as strategic and trusted HR business partner to assigned business group(s) by providing HR advisory services and career management support
  • Implement group, regional and local HR strategies within areas of responsibility and demonstrate understanding of business priorities and opportunities for HR contribution
  • Uphold the highest ethical standard and provide advice to the businesses to ensure they are compliant with the culture and values of BNP Paribas when dealing with people related matters
  • Partner closely with HR Specialist in areas of Compensation and Benefits, Global Mobility, Talent Acquisition, HR Support Centre of Excellence, and Learning and Development

Recruitment

  • Work with the Business Line or Functions to meet their strategic resourcing needs
  • Work with Talent Acquisition/Recruitment team to deliver recruitment objectives
  • Manage required approvals within the APAC Delegations process
  • Partner with appointed external parties on recruitment of other employment types such as contracts, temporary and institutes/government initiatives (e.g. internships, temporary placements, TFIP)

Career, Talent, Expatriate Management

  • Conduct regular career development interviews with the designated population and complete feedback record after each meeting
  • Identify and support the initiatives of the APAC talent program, succession planning, and the graduate and internship programs
  • Facilitate all people mobility (e.g. Expatriate movement, internal mobility, local to local mobility) adhering to the APAC Mobility Policy
  • Expatriate management ‐ renewal/phase‐out of all expats' contracts in a timely manner

Performance Management

  • Advise stakeholders through the annual appraisal process (including providing difficult messages, objective setting, update job description, 100% completion rate), monitor block leave and mandatory e‐learning
  • Conduct Exit Interviews in a timely manner and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders 

Employee Relations

  • Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct to adhere with the highest standards of ethics
  • Handle Employee Relations matters and performance management issues (e.g. Performance improvement plan), applying appropriate BNPP policies and guidelines and escalating cases when necessary
  • Facilitate leave of absence (maternity, long service leave, sabbatical…), retirement and exit processes (including exit interviews) for employees in scope

Compensation and Benefits

  • Support the year end performance management and compensation process (CRP), working closely with regional HR Business partner and Compensation and Benefits partner during the annual performance and pay review salary and bonus cycle
  • Actively participate in the annual job matching exercise and regularly conduct compensation analysis to highlight key areas of concern in assigned business group(s)
  • Contribute to data surveys where required (e.g. McLagan)
  • Where required, advice stakeholders on Employment Pass (EP) criteria on new hires, mobility into Singapore and EP renewals
  • Lead the end to end process of approval of bid back, retention and termination packages working closely with RBP and Territory Head of HR

Control and Compliance

  • Contribute to the Operational Permanent Control Framework and reporting of all incidents according to the Incident Management System
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to all Bank’s Policies & Procedure
  • Comply with all mandatory eLearning requirements

Others

  • Analyze data and provide expert guidance on the Singapore work permit (Employment Pass) framework and reporting to optimize regulatory compliance and workforce utilization
  • Serve as end-to-end Program Manager for the Technology in Finance Immersion Program (TFIP), coordinating with different business PMOs on the full cycle of talent acquisition, headcount budgeting, and payment processing

  • Assist with workforce planning
  • Maintain a general knowledge of BNP Paribas and Pole strategies

  • Collaborate with RBP in identifying and retaining Top Talent, Succession Planning exercise and Graduates Program

Performance Management

  • Liaise with L&D and RBP to provide appropriate solutions to training needs within areas of responsibility

Coordination within HR

  • Contribute to the flow of information within HR (bottom up and lateral)
  • Utilise and partner with HR Competence Centres where necessary
  • Contribute to the Operational Permanent Control Framework and reporting of all incidents accordingly in the Incident Management
