🌟 Position Overview
Jiemin Primary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Welfare & Pastoral Care Officer to support students requiring behavioural, emotional, and social guidance. The successful candidate will play a key role in student engagement, first-response intervention, mentoring, and supporting student well-being initiatives.
⏰ Working Hours
🗓️ Monday to Friday
🕢 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
🍽️ Inclusive of 30-minute lunch break
🚫 No service required on:
- Saturdays
- Sundays
- Singapore Public Holidays
🎯 Key Responsibilities
🚨 First Response & Student Support
- Respond promptly to teacher requests for assistance.
- Escort students to designated pull-out locations when required.
- Provide initial intervention, triage, and basic counselling support.
- Manage students experiencing emotional or behavioural escalations.
- Contact parents/guardians to provide initial updates.
- Provide observations and recommendations to relevant school personnel.
🤝 Student Mentoring & Befriending
- Build positive relationships with students.
- Mentor and guide students who are at risk of re-offending or displaying behavioural concerns.
- Encourage positive behaviour and social-emotional development.
- Support students in achieving personal and behavioural goals.
🎨 Student Engagement & Programme Support
- Manage and supervise student engagement activity hubs.
- Support after-school programmes and student enrichment activities.
- Assist during learning journeys and school-based events.
- Promote meaningful participation among high-needs students.
📋 Collaboration & Case Management
- Attend Case Management Team (CMT) meetings.
- Work closely with School Counsellors, SENO, Discipline Team and Student Development Team.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling student matters.
- Monitor and report student progress when required.

💼 Experience Requirements
✅ Essential
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with children aged 6 to 12 years old.
- Experience in:Student counselling supportYouth mentoringBehaviour managementPastoral care programmes
