Senior Counsellor (Charity Sector, Special Needs Focus)

We are seeking a Senior Counsellor to join a growing charity unit dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs and their families.

This role is ideal for someone who is both clinically grounded and operationally strong, with a passion for building meaningful services from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the setup and development of a new counselling unit within the organization
• Provide oversight and supervision of a counselling team
• Manage day-to-day operations, workflows, and service delivery standards
• Ensure effective coordination of counselling services for individuals and families
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic care pathways
• Drive service quality, documentation, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Proven experience in counselling, psychotherapy, or related mental health practice
• Strong experience in setting up or developing counselling services or programmes
• Strong administrative, organizational, and management capabilities
• Ability to lead and supervise a team effectively
• Highly motivated, energetic, and committed to meaningful social impact

Nice to Have

• Experience working in charity, social service, or community-based settings
• Familiarity with special needs populations is an advantage but not required

Important Note

No prior experience in special needs is required, as the counselling team under your supervision is already trained in this area. Your role focuses on leadership, structure, and service development, supported by an experienced frontline team.
