WAREHOUSE OPERATION EXECUTIVE

Warehouse operations encompass the end-to-end processes of managing a facility's flow of goods. This includes receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping. The core goal is to maximize space, and accuracy while minimizing costs and delivery times.

The workflow can be broken down into three main phases:

1.   Inbound Processes

• Receiving: Logging incoming shipments against purchase orders and advance shipping notices.
• Put-away: Moving goods to their designated storage locations safely.

• 2. Internal Processes

Storage Optimization: Organizing items based on size, turnover rate, and environmental needs

• Inventory Control: Tracking stock levels using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
• Replenishment: Moving backup inventory from bulk storage to active picking zones

• 3. Outbound Processes

• Order Picking: Locating and gathering the specific items required for customer orders.
• Packing: Preparing and packaging items to ensure safe transit.
• Shipping: Consolidating packages, loading them into transport vehicles, and managing route dispatch.
