Construction Project Manager
Job Description
About Nebius:
Nebius is leading a new era in cloud infrastructure for the global AI economy. We are building a full-stack AI cloud platform that supports developers and enterprises from data and model training through to production deployment, without the cost and complexity of building large in-house AI/ML infrastructure.
Built by engineers, for engineers. From large-scale GPU orchestration to inference optimization, we own the hard problems across compute, storage, networking and applied AI.
Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D.
About the Role
We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of mission-critical data center projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover. This is an owner-side role responsible for managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety across ground-up builds, expansions, and fit-outs of critical facilities. You will be the primary point of accountability for general contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, and equipment vendors, ensuring facilities are delivered on an aggressive speed-to-market timeline without compromising reliability.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end project delivery for data center construction, owning cost, schedule, scope, quality, and safety from site selection support and preconstruction through Level 5 commissioning and operational handover.
- Manage general contractors, architects, MEP engineers, and specialty subcontractors, holding the project team accountable to contractual milestones and design intent.
- Drive coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems — including utility power and substations, switchgear, UPS, generators, and air- and liquid-cooling infrastructure — recognizing that power and cooling drive the critical path.
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, identify critical-path risks early, and implement recovery plans to protect on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Manage project budgets, change orders, contingency, and forecasting; review pay applications and validate work in place.
- Own the commissioning process in partnership with the CxA, ensuring scripts, levels (L1–L5), and acceptance criteria are met before energization and turnover to operations.
- Enforce a strict safety culture, including the specific hazards of working in and around energized electrical environments and live critical facilities.
- Provide clear, regular reporting to leadership on schedule, budget, risk, and key decisions.
- Manage long-lead equipment procurement and vendor coordination, mitigating supply-chain risk on generators, switchgear, chillers, and cooling units.
- Support due diligence on site selection, including utility power availability, fiber, water, and constructability factors.
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of construction project management experience, with at least 3 years delivering data centers or comparable mission-critical / critical-environment facilities (hospitals, semiconductor fabs, pharma, or large-scale industrial).
- Direct working knowledge of data center MEP systems: power distribution, redundancy topologies (N+1, 2N), UPS, generators, and air and liquid cooling.
- Familiarity with the commissioning process and Uptime Institute Tier standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multimillion-dollar budgets and complex, schedule-driven projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong command of project controls, scheduling software (P6 or MS Project), and construction management platforms (Procore or similar).
- Excellent contractor and vendor management skills, with the ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining productive relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field — or equivalent field experience.
- Willingness to travel to and be on-site at project locations as required.
Nice to Have
- Experience delivering for hyperscale or colocation clients.
- Exposure to liquid-cooling deployments and high-density rack environments.
- PMP, CCM, or relevant OSHA certifications.
- Experience managing projects in greenfield or speculative-build environments.
Why This Role Matters
The work you deliver is the physical backbone of cloud and AI infrastructure. These facilities have to be built fast, built right, and run without interruption — and the project manager is the single person who makes all of that come together.
Benefits & Perks:
