Software Engineer (Backend)

Company Summary Julian Grey’s client is a global technology solutions provider supporting enterprise digital transformation, cloud platforms, and secure software delivery. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure backend services and APIs for digital products.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Managers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions.

• Build and integrate RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and API documentation using Swagger.

• Develop backend services using technologies such as Node.js, NestJS, .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, and related frameworks.

• Implement modern software engineering practices, including TDD, pair programming, CI/CD, code reviews, continuous refactoring, and clean coding standards.

• Support cloud-native development, deployment automation, monitoring, and observability across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Vercel, or similar platforms.

• Work with databases, microservices, event-driven architecture, containerisation, and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Ensure backend systems meet performance, scalability, reliability, government security, regulatory, and software craftsmanship standards.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 7 years of relevant software engineering experience.

• Strong backend development experience with JavaScript, Node.js, NestJS, .NET, C#, and ASP.NETCore.

• Experience in API development, integration, and documentation using RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and Swagger.

• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and databases.

• Good understanding of Agile delivery, test automation, microservices, and secure coding practices.

• Exposure to Sitecore, monitoring tools, serverless, API gateways, government digital services, will be advantageous.
