We are looking for Data Center Operations role Work location: Tuas, Singapore
We are looking for a reliable and technically skilled Smart Hands Engineer to join our team and support data center operations in Singapore. In this role, you'll be the on-site partner to our L2/L3 engineering teams, providing hands-on support for hardware, network, and system-related activities within our Internet Data Center (IDC) environment. You'll bring foundational knowledge of systems and networking (Windows/Linux and basic networking concepts) and demonstrate strong coordination, troubleshooting, and execution skills to help us deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities Data Center Operations & Support Provide 24x7 remote support coordination and dispatch for onsite smart hands activities Act as the first-level physical support for L2/L3 engineering teams Execute tasks based on remote instructions with accuracy and timeliness
Hardware & Infrastructure Management Perform hardware installation, racking, stacking, and cabling Handle equipment decommissioning and disposal processes Conduct firmware upgrades, patching, and hardware replacements
Monitoring & Incident Response Monitor power, environmental, and infrastructure alerts Perform initial troubleshooting, escalation, and reporting Ensure adherence to incident management and escalation procedures
Facilities Coordination Work closely with facility teams to manage: Power management HVAC systems Physical security controls
Inventory & Asset Management Maintain inventory of spare parts, consumables, and equipment Perform asset tagging, logging, and tracking of data center assets Ensure accurate documentation and inventory audits
Vendor & OEM Coordination Liaise with OEM vendors (e.g., Dell, HP, Cisco) for: RMA processing Diagnostics and troubleshooting Support vendor visits and onsite interventions
Remote Access & Virtualization Support (as required) Manage and support remote console tools (iLO, iDRAC, IPMI) Provide basic support for hypervisor platforms:
- VMware
- Hyper-V
- KVM
Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Knowledge Basic knowledge of:
- Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
- Networking: TCP/IP, cabling, switching basics Hands-on experience in data center environments (preferred) Familiarity with server hardware and rack infrastructure Understanding of remote management tools (iLO, iDRAC, IPMI)
