Junior L2 Production Support Engineer

We are seeking a Junior L2 Production Support Engineer to support mission-critical banking applications. This role is ideal for IT graduates with at least 2 years of application/production support experience, strong Linux/Unix and SQL skills, and a keenness to build a career in the banking technology sector. You will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining business-critical applications while ensuring service availability and meeting agreed service levels. Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 production support for banking applications.

• Monitor application health, system performance, and batch processing.

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents within the SLA.

• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

• Execute and monitor batch jobs and scheduled processes.

• Support application deployments and production releases.

• Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to resolve issues.

• Prepare operational documentation and maintain support procedures.

• Participate in shift rotations, including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Application Support or Production Support.

• Preferably with experience supporting applications in a banking or financial institution.

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix and SQL.

• Recent experience supporting Java/J2EE applications.

• Good understanding of Java/J2EE applications.

• Experience writing SQL queries and using Unix/Linux commands.

• Knowledge of web applications, batch processing, JBoss, MariaDB, SQL, and Shell scripting.

• Knowledge of job scheduling, MQ setup, or Connect (C) is an advantage.

• Exposure to the banking industry is an added advantage.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Eager to learn and continuously improve technical knowledge.

Shift Schedule This role operates on a rotating shift basis:

• Morning Shift: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

• General Shift: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

• Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM

• Night Shift: 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Successful candidates must be willing to support rotating shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Transport reimbursement is provided.
