Senior Python Engineer (AI)

We are looking for a Senior Python Backend Engineer to build an MVP of a first-of-its-kind AI-powered VC due diligence evaluation platform, leveraging a 400+ point checklist based on their corporate experience. The role focuses on backend development,API design, and production integration with LLM models, like OpenAI, vector databases (Milvus) and additional AI services that could provide intelligent responses for the query. This position suits someone who is comfortable working at the intersection of backend engineering, data and OCR and integrating with AI systems.

About the Project: We are building a fast-paced MVP for a first-of-its-kind, AI-powered Venture Capital due diligence evaluation platform. The system will automate the evaluation of startups by leveraging a 400+ point checklist and integrating with advanced AI/LLM models and databases

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python (3.12)

• Build and support high-performance REST APIs and service layers

• Implement asynchronous and multithreaded workflows for data processing and AI pipelines

• Integrate with LLMs and RAG-based architectures

• Work with vector databases (Milvus) and object storage (MinIO)

• Design and optimize data models across PostgreSQL and MongoDB

• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of backend services

• Collaborate closely with AI engineers, data specialists, and product teams

• Participate in code reviews and technical decision-making

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Python 3.12

• Experience with Litestar (or similar async frameworks like FastAPI)

• Hands-on experience with SQLAlchemy and Alembic

• Experience with OpenAuth

• Strong understanding of multithreading / concurrency patterns

• Strong understanding of the best dev practices SOLID, KISS, DRY

• Experience with distributed systems and scalable architectures, microservices

• Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing)

• Experience with AWS cloud platform

• Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB

• Experience with vector databases (Milvus or any similar)

• Experience with object storage systems (MinIO or S3-compatible)

• Experience with RabbitMQ

• Practical experience with AI / LLM integrations

• Strong understanding of how large language models (LLMs) work

• Hands-on experience, deep understanding of RAG

• At least six months of hands-on AI integration experience in real-world projects

• Experience with LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models, etc.)

• English - upper-intermediate

Would be a plus:

• Experience with Kubernetes (K8s)
