As a Benefits Professional, you will have responsibility for either the design or operational aspects of one or more employee benefits programs within a particular country or region. The scope of the role will vary by country depending on benefits offered and resources available. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Design Benefits Programs: Determine the rules and features of IBM plans, and benchmark the plans against those of IBM's competitors to ensure competitiveness and alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage Operational Activities: Implement design changes, resolve individual employee questions or issues, and manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Team with other IBM functions on matters involving legal compliance, employee relations, employee communications, and financial reporting related to the benefits programs to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Oversee Vendor Relationships: Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure effective delivery of benefits programs.
  • Resolve Employee Issues: Resolve individual employee questions or issues related to benefits programs in a timely and effective manner. Operational Management Expertise: Experience in managing day-to-day operational activities, including implementing design changes, resolving employee issues, and managing vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience with teaming with other functions on matters involving legal compliance, employee relations, employee communications, and financial reporting related to benefits programs.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Experience in managing vendor relationships to ensure effective delivery of benefits programs.
  • Employee Issue Resolution: Experience in resolving individual employee questions or issues related to benefits programs in a timely and effective manner. Strong data analysis and data‑validation capability, including identifying anomalies, trends, and root causes. Experience extracting, cleansing, and integrating data from multiple systems. High attention to detail with the ability to maintain clear, accurate, and auditable documentation. Proficiency with analytical tools and understanding of data structures and system flows. Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to interpret findings in a broader business context. Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills. Knowledge of data governance, privacy requirements, and appropriate handling and de‑identification of data.

Technical Expertise

Data Extraction & Archival Retrieval: Proven ability to query, extract, and consolidate structured and unstructured datasets across legacy architectures, multiple active databases, and archival storage systems. Data Governance & Data

Strong understanding of data privacy protocols, including data masking, anonymization, and de-identification techniques to ensure compliance with data protection regulations before external sharing. Data Extraction & Archival Retrieval: Proven ability to query, extract, and consolidate structured and unstructured datasets across legacy architectures, multiple active databases, and archival storage systems. Data Cleaning & Asset Management: Proficiency in data cleansing, pipeline preparation, and establishing standardized file naming conventions, data structures, and secure repository management. Advanced Data Validation & Auditing: Deep experience in cross-system data reconciliation, source-to-target mapping verification, data sampling methodologies, and building robust data quality control frameworks. Audit Trail Documentation: Mastery in maintaining precise, comprehensive, and auditable logs of analytical findings, data discrepancies, and remediation decisions. Professional & Soft Skills Holistic & Analytical Problem Solving: Ability to look past raw numbers to identify systemic root causes, identify macro trends, and understand the operational drivers behind data anomalies. Vendor Performance Management: Experience collaborating with, interrogating, and validating deliverables from external third-party vendors or consultants to ensure data integrity and contractual accuracy. Risk Identification & Mitigation: Proactive mindset capable of identifying current data irregularities and predicting future data quality risks or source-system limitations. Cross-Functional Perspective: Capacity to assess how localized data discrepancies impact broader calculations, methodologies, and downstream populations across an organization. Attention to Detail & Precision: Highly meticulous approach to validating complex workbooks, tracking discrepancies, and adhering strictly to established organizational standards.
