Job Description

  • Mentoring of Electrical engineers during tendering, design and construction phases based on best practices defined in the engineering efficiency checklist
  • Implementing the design checklist and tracking progress based on schedule developed
  • Prepare electrical tenderpackages including specification and drawings
  • Provide design requirements and coordinate with designers for preparation of Design, tender and construction drawings
  • Provide constructive feedback to the lead engineer regarding design, site issues, compliance, client demand/request, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring toremain familiar with current practices and engineering trends within the industry and to remain technically competent
  • Tendering and estimating ofelectrical works for projects prior to award
  • Compiling lesson learnt briefing for the Head of Department (HOD), updating the lesson learned register accordingly
  • Compilation and Review ofOperation and Maintenance Dossier for Projects
  • In the absence of a project-based Lead Engineer, the Senior Engineer shall assume the role and responsibilities assigned to the Lead Engineer position
  • In the absence of a project-based Engineer, the Senior Engineer shall assume the role and responsibilities assigned to the engineer position

  • Lead the electrical design on large-scale projects during the design and construction phase
  • Design of high-voltage switchgear and low-voltage switchboards, VFD and motor starter systems, transformers, generators, high-voltage and low-voltage cable systems, lighting, Small power, Lightning Protection, Earthing, power SCADA, and dynamic and static UPS systems for Clean rooms, Industrial Facilities and commercial buildings
  • Carry out design calculations deemed necessary for executing the project, which include short circuit calculation, load flow, equipment sizing, cable sizing, and lighting calculation.
  • Evaluate Lightning Protection Risk Assessment Report
  • Develop & review electrical-related drawings, e.g. Single Line Diagram, VFD andMotor Starter Schematic, Equipment layout, Cable ladder/tray routing layout
  • Execute Expedite electrical packages during construction phase of a project and takeresponsibility for the packages assigned
  • Involve daily coordination with internal C&S and BIM team to resolve all the clashes, penetrations, etc.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience Requirements
  • Electrical Engineer – Minimum 3 - 7 years of experience experiencein design and in construction management for electrical projects
  • Senior Mechanical Engineer – Minimum 8 to 15 years of experience in design and in construction management for electrical projects
  • Lead Mechanical Engineer – Minimum 15 – 20 years of  experience in design and in construction management for electrical projects
  • Experienced in the high-tech industry with large-scale electrical power systems involved in testing and commissioning activities.
  • Basic knowledge of operating Power Management System Software (ETAP) and short-circuit calculation
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of Engineering Design and Construction for high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems from preliminary design to commissioning and Handover
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of project execution processes in a fast-track environment
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant codes of practices, statutory requirements, IEC, NEMA andNFPA standards for design implementation
  • Extensive local construction knowledge
  • BIM and ACC platform
