Senior Project Engineer - Newbuild (Marine)
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee day-to-day construction management of project • Monitor and report to Senior / Project Manager of project progress versus baseline, including issues and risks in a timely manner • Conduct VSCC and take charge of ship work safety and cleanliness • Liaise with trades on the activities and construction effort needed to achieve progress safely, within schedule and budget • Plan, develop and organize the construction effort to formulate the most cost-effective plan to support schedule and cost • Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented • Review man hours and duration forecasts to completion and resource requirements • Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance • Manage schedule, cost-to-completion (CTC) and POC together with Senior / Project Manager • Conduct progress meetings to manage issues • Responsible for planning, scheduling and costing • Support in project tender when called upon or any other adhoc project duties as required • Handle warranty issues • Manage customer expectations at site and maintain good customer relationships
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Marine/Mechanical/Naval Architecture
- Preferably possess 1 years experience in newbuild or ship repairs related projects
- Completed Ship Repair Manager Course
- Project Management Skills in the following areas: Planning scheduling and costing, Risk management, Manpower management, Customer Relationship management.
- Able to deal and communicate with people effectively at all levels on the ground, identify and manage issues, cost consciousness and urgency to get things done
- Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera or MS Projects will be advantageous
- Able to work on weekends based on project needs
- Only Singapore Citizens will be considered for this role

- Location: Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)
- 5 days work week
- Working Hours: 7.25am-5pm
