Legal Counsel - 12 Months Contract - up to SGD 23k
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel (Banking/Finance). In this role, you will support to ensure that the legal and reputational risks faced by the area of coverage are identified, reported and mitigated. .
Key Responsibilities:
- Support due diligence processes across relevant divisions by assisting with framework design, request list preparation, tracking, and synthesizing findings for senior stakeholders and external advisers.
- Coordinate and ensure the timely delivery of due diligence workstreams, working collaboratively with legal, finance, tax, compliance, and business teams to identify key risks and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Assist with repapering and updating client and vendor contracts, including reviewing templates, preparing amendments, coordinating execution, and maintaining accurate records to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Support the coordination of foreign law and other legal advice across multiple jurisdictions, including scope definition, managing external counsel, and ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to budgets.
- Contribute to the reflection of foreign law considerations in transaction documentation and due diligence reports, maintaining central trackers and providing regular updates to project leads and senior stakeholders.
- Provide general legal guidance and pragmatic support on various legal matters under supervision, assisting the legal team in delivering commercially focused legal advice aligned with transaction requirements.
Qualifications:
- Qualified lawyer with 2-7 years of relevant post-qualification experience, demonstrating confidence and proficiency in legal practice.
- Extensive experience managing multi-jurisdictional corporate transactions, including large-scale due diligence exercises and coordinating external legal advisers across multiple jurisdictions.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills, capable of managing and prioritizing multiple workstreams and demanding deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, adept at engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and clear communication.
- Skilled in handling diverse legal issues, working efficiently under pressure, and applying lateral thinking and problem-solving techniques to complex challenges.
- A collaborative team player with good situational awareness and independence, with prior experience or interest in AI tools to enhance legal workflows
