Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and results-driven Contract Accountant to support a high-priority project focused on the resolution of inter-company balances as part of a corporate liquidation exercise. This role offers valuable exposure to cross-border transactions and the opportunity to work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including finance teams, tax consultants, banks, auditors and corporate service providers. In addition to the project scope, the successful candidate will support year-end financial reporting for dormant entities within the Group and assist with ongoing tax compliance activities. Key Responsibilities Inter-Company Reconciliation & Liquidation Support

  • Review, analyse and reconcile inter-company balances across multiple entities within the Group.
  • Extract, consolidate and analyse accounting data from ERP systems and financial records to identify discrepancies and outstanding balances.
  • Prepare reconciliation schedules, supporting documentation and working papers to facilitate inter-company settlements.
  • Collaborate with internal finance teams to validate balances and resolve reconciliation issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare documentation required for cross-border remittances, debt waivers and other inter-company settlement activities.
  • Monitor and track the progress of settlements, ensuring accurate documentation and audit trails are maintained.
  • Support the preparation of finance-related documentation required for corporate liquidation exercises.
  • Assist with special projects including entity liquidation, tax reviews, tax health checks and tax audits.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare year-end financial statements and supporting schedules for dormant entities, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Perform month-end closing activities for dormant overseas companies.
  • Maintain complete and organised accounting records, supporting documents and governance-related filings.
  • Extract and compile financial information, schedules and supporting documents required for statutory, tax and financial reporting purposes.

Tax & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Support routine tax compliance activities by providing information and documentation required by external tax agents.
  • Respond to follow-up queries from external advisors and stakeholders on tax and financial reporting matters.
  • Liaise and coordinate with tax agents, auditors, banks, corporate secretarial firms and other external parties to ensure timely completion of reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of tax filings, correspondence and supporting documentation.

General

  • Perform other finance-related and project-based duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Experience in financial reporting, inter-company accounting, tax compliance, treasury operations, corporate restructuring or liquidation exercises will be advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles, reconciliation processes and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience in preparing statutory financial statements and supporting tax compliance activities is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and work with large volumes of financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and external parties.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently while contributing positively in a team environment.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a project-driven environment.
