Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate alerts, cases, and escalations to identify potential money mule activities, money laundering, fraud, and other financial crime risks.

• Perform detailed reviews of customer accounts, transactions, and behavioral patterns to detect suspicious activities.

• Escalate high-risk cases to relevant stakeholders and ensure timely resolution in accordance with established procedures.

• Prepare, review, and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to regulatory authorities within prescribed timelines.

• Respond to money laundering and transaction monitoring queries from business units, compliance teams, and other stakeholders.

• Liaise closely with Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance, Operations, and Business Units on surveillance-related matters and investigations.

• Participate in transaction monitoring and surveillance enhancement projects, including system improvements and process optimization initiatives.

• Generate management reports, statistics, and compliance metrics while ensuring data accuracy and completeness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Banking, Business, Accounting, Law, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in AML, Financial Crime Compliance, Transaction Monitoring, Transaction Surveillance, Fraud Risk Management, or related functions within the banking or financial services industry.

• Strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations, MAS guidelines, and financial crime risk management frameworks.

• Experience in investigating suspicious transactions, money mule activities, and preparing STRs/SARs.

• Familiarity with transaction monitoring and surveillance systems.
