Software Engineer II, YouTube Trust and Safety, Responsiveness

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.

• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

• Write product or system development code. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

• Analyze and understand gaps in our rapid response systems. Apply novel machine learning methods to address a variety of Trust and Safety issues.

• Build systems, infrastructure and classifiers to improve our content detection capabilities by orchestrating signals from various expert models, and to make the most effective use of our human content reviewers.

Qualifications Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• 1 year of experience working with AI systems and ML concepts.

• Experience with infrastructure for complex automation and human aid systems.
