Full Stack Developer (Java / Enterprise Applications)

About the Role Our client is looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to support and modernise mission-critical enterprise applications that power Singapore's land registration and digital transaction ecosystem. You will be involved in maintaining large-scale legacy systems while driving modernisation initiatives through new technologies, improved engineering practices, and AI-assisted development tools. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance and maintain enterprise web applications across legacy and modern platforms.

• Analyse, troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring system stability, reliability and performance.

• Implement enhancements for complex business workflows involving transactions, document processing, reporting and system integrations.

• Support application modernisation initiatives including platform upgrades, code refactoring, API development, technology migration and architecture improvements.

• Work with AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development productivity while ensuring code quality, security and compliance.

• Perform root cause analysis, defect remediation and production support for mission-critical applications.

• Apply secure coding practices, code reviews, automated testing and DevSecOps principles throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Collaborate closely with business users, architects, infrastructure teams, vendors and other stakeholders to deliver quality solutions.

• Prepare technical documentation including system design, integration specifications and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in software development, application maintenance or enterprise application development.

• Strong hands-on programming experience in Java and enterprise application development.

• Experience working with enterprise applications involving APIs, databases, authentication, batch processing and system integrations.

• Familiar with software development best practices including Git, CI/CD, automated testing and release management.

• Good understanding of secure coding practices and application security.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with one or more of the following technologies:

• Java, JSP, JavaScript

• SQL / PL/SQL

• Spring Boot

• Angular

• Oracle Database

• WebLogic, IIS or Tomcat

• Shell scripting

Preferred Experience Candidates with the following experience will have an advantage:

• Legacy application modernisation, technology refresh, code refactoring or system migration projects.

• AI-assisted software engineering tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor or similar).

• Enterprise platforms such as Oracle, WebLogic, Spring Boot, Angular or AWS.

• DevSecOps, application monitoring, observability or performance optimisation.

• Supporting systems in highly regulated, mission-critical or public sector environments.

• Systems involving legal, land registry, document management or transaction processing.
