HVAC Design Engineer

About the Role We are seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to support local and international industrial projects across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, data centres, food manufacturing, consumer chemicals, and new energy. The role covers HVAC design development, multidisciplinary coordination, procurement support, technical review, and construction-stage assistance. Job Scope

• Lead or support HVAC design activities for local and overseas industrial projects.

• Independently prepare HVAC deliverables for concept, basic, and detailed design stages, including load calculations, air balancing, zoning layouts, pressurisation plans, design reports, duct layouts, and technical specifications.

• Develop or review airflow and instrumentation diagrams, detailed drawings, shop drawings, and 3D models using Revit or SketchUp.

• Coordinate with local design institutes, Professional Engineers, Qualified Persons, consultants, and other engineering disciplines during design and project execution.

• Prepare Bills of Quantities, tender documents, value-engineering proposals, technical bid evaluations, and procurement recommendations.

• Review designs and technical submissions from consultants, subcontractors, and external design partners for compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.

• Select suitable HVAC equipment and materials based on system performance, operating conditions, and project specifications.

• Provide technical support during construction, testing, commissioning, and issue resolution when required.

• Support facilities-management and sustainable-design consultancy activities, including LEED-related requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 6 years of relevant HVAC design experience; candidates with more than 10 years of experience would be advantageous.

• Experience designing HVAC systems for industrial facilities such as pharmaceutical, semiconductor, data-centre, or advanced manufacturing projects.

• Able to independently develop design calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and technical submissions.

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; experience with Revit, Navisworks, CFD, or similar engineering software is preferred.

• Familiar with FDA, cGMP, ISO 14644, ASHRAE, IBC, IMC, and other relevant engineering standards.

• Good understanding of HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, controls, and material selection.

• Strong technical coordination, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

• Leadership or project-management experience would be advantageous.

• Good written and spoken English for project coordination and technical documentation.

• Willing to undertake overseas project assignments lasting approximately three to six months when required.
