Procurement QA/QC Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Procurement QA/QC Engineer to lead procurement quality assurance and vendor inspection activities for Offshore Oil & Gas projects, including FPSO, FSO, FLNG, Offshore Platforms, EPCIC, Marine Construction, SURF, Pipelines, and Offshore Installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supplier quality management, vendor qualification, inspection planning, manufacturing surveillance, quality audits, and ensuring all procured equipment and materials meet project specifications, contractual requirements, and international standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing procurement quality assurance and vendor inspection activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Developing and implementing Procurement Quality Surveillance Plans (PQSP) and Vendor Inspection Plans (VIP).
- Conducting supplier evaluations, qualification audits, and vendor assessments.
- Reviewing and approving vendor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Coordinating vendor inspections, FATs, quality surveillance, and third-party inspection agencies.
- Monitoring fabrication, welding, machining, coating, assembly, testing, preservation, packing, and shipment activities.
- Reviewing NCRs, deviations, concessions, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
- Verifying material certificates, inspection reports, NDT reports, MDRs, and certification documentation.
- Liaising with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Vendors, Clients, Classification Societies, and Regulatory Authorities.
- Supporting supplier performance improvement and continuous quality enhancement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, API Q1, or API Q2 certification.
- Minimum 10 years of Offshore Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Lead Procurement QA/QC Engineer, Vendor Quality Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong experience in supplier quality management, vendor inspections, quality surveillance, supplier audits, and procurement quality assurance.
- Experience supporting FPSO, FSO, FLNG, Offshore Platforms, EPCIC, Marine, SURF, Pipeline, or Offshore Construction projects.
- Sound knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, ISO, IEC, NACE, and Classification Society requirements.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, NDT, machining, coating, assembly, FAT, hydrotesting, preservation, and material traceability.
- Experience reviewing ITPs, MDRs, quality dossiers, material certificates, inspection reports, NCRs, and corrective actions.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP/Procurement systems.
- CSWIP, NACE, ASNT, or equivalent inspection certifications will be advantageous.
