Accountant (Start-Up)

About Our Client Our client is a newly formed joint venture created by two highly respected organisations within the textile and apparel industry. As a newly established business, the company offers a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment where employees can make a visible impact and contribute directly to the success of the organisation. Job Description As the Accountant, you will play a critical role in establishing and managing the finance function for the business.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage the full spectrum of accounting activities, including AP, AR and General Ledger

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports

• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities

• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations between related entities

• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements

• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants and external service providers

• Support the implementation and enhancement of finance processes, controls and reporting frameworks as the business grows

The Successful Applicant

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline

• 5+ years of accounting and finance experience

• Hands-on experience managing full sets of accounts

• Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting and statutory compliance

• Experience working with intercompany transactions and reconciliations

• Ability to work independently within a growing and evolving environment

• Comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders and supporting business growth initiatives

• Prior experience within textile or retail or start-up environments will be advantageous

• Exposure to finance systems implementation or process improvement initiatives will be highly regarded

• Proficient in Mandarin as the role requires communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
