The Category Creator Specialist will serve an essential function for merchant operations, with a primary focus on driving growth and success of our merchants via creator engagement. The role has a broad scope from managing content programs and creator identification and onboarding, merchant content strategy development & execution and optimization. The position plays a central role in supporting all elements of creator strategy, affiliate development, and content programs for our top TikTok Shop merchants. We're onboarding some of the world's largest, most exciting and on trend brands in one or more categories and need a strong partner-connector who can help these brands find their creative voice to reach and inspire the next generation of customers.

Responsibilities

  • Own growth strategies and operational programs for U.S. L0–L1 e-Commerce creators, covering creator acquisition, activation, first content publication, first order, sustained sales, retention, and tier progression.
  • Segment creators based on lifecycle stage, content capabilities, commercial performance, growth potential, willingness to operate, and account health, and develop differentiated operational strategies for priority cohorts. Build and manage the creator growth funnel, identify the highest-impact conversion and retention drop-off points, and define clear success metrics for each stage.
  • Partner with product and algorithm teams to improve creator–product matching, creator–content-format matching, onboarding, performance feedback, and automated growth interventions.

Qualifications Minimum Qualification(s)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in growth operations, creator operations, user growth, platform operations, e-Commerce operations, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience managing demand-side or supply-side growth funnels, with independent ownership of activation, conversion, retention, re-engagement, or lifecycle operations programs.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business problems into measurable funnels, cohorts, segmentation rules, and testable hypotheses.
  • Ability to use data to diagnose business bottlenecks, set priorities, evaluate incremental impact, and support operational decisions.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to drive execution across product, data, marketing, merchant, and regional teams.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-changing business environment and drive progress when problem definitions are incomplete, dependencies are complex, and performance expectations are high.

Preferred Qualification(s)

  • Experience in creator ecosystems, social commerce, affiliate commerce, short-form video, livestream e-commerce, or content platforms.
  • Experience operating in the U.S. market, with familiarity with U.S. creator behavior, content trends, and e-Commerce categories.
  • Proficiency in SQL, BI tools, experiment design, cohort analysis, retention analysis, or basic causal inference methods.
  • Experience designing incentive programs while managing risks related to content substitution, low-quality supply, fraud, and reward gaming.
  • Ability to balance short-term commercial goals with long-term creator retention, content quality, and ecosystem health.
  • Experience turning small-scale operational pilots into productized or automated mechanisms.
