Senior Software Developer (C++, Qt)

C++ / Qt Software Engineer – Passenger Information Systems (PIS) Job Summary We are looking for an experienced C++ / Qt Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software solutions for Passenger Information Systems (PIS) in the rail and transportation domain. The role involves developing high-performance HMI applications, passenger display systems, operator interfaces, CCTV monitoring solutions, and diagnostic tools using modern C++ and the Qt framework. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in C++, Qt, QML, and Qt Widgets, along with a good understanding of distributed software architectures and system integration. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Passenger Information System (PIS) software using C++ and Qt Framework.

• Develop rich and responsive Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications using QML and Qt Widgets.

• Develop software applications for:

• Passenger information displays

• Route map and destination displays

• CCTV monitoring systems

• Operator control interfaces

• System diagnostic and monitoring tools

• Design and implement scalable, modular, and maintainable software architectures for complex distributed systems.

• Develop, debug, optimize, and maintain software throughout the product lifecycle.

• Support software integration, system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.

• Analyze technical issues and provide effective solutions during development and system deployment.

• Collaborate closely with System Engineering, Hardware, Verification & Validation, and other cross-functional teams.

• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and documentation activities.

• Ensure software development follows defined coding standards, quality processes, and engineering best practices.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong programming experience in C++.

• Hands-on experience with Qt Framework.

• Strong experience in QML and Qt Widgets for HMI development.

• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture.

• Experience developing applications for distributed or embedded systems.

• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

• Experience with software integration, testing, and commissioning.

• Familiarity with Linux/Windows-based development environments.

• Experience with Git or other version-control systems.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience in railway, transportation, automotive, industrial automation, or embedded systems.

• Experience with Passenger Information Systems (PIS) or related railway applications.

• Knowledge of CCTV/video monitoring systems.

• Experience developing real-time or safety-/mission-critical applications.

• Knowledge of communication protocols and distributed systems.

• Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing, and software quality tools.

• Familiarity with railway standards such as EN 50128 / EN 50155 would be an advantage.
