Data Centre Field Engineer

Support the operations and maintenance of mission-critical data centres and remote buildings in Singapore. This position requires working on a 12-hour rotating shift to support day-to-day data centre operations. Job Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day data centre and computer operations activities, including:
- Key management and access control
- Vendor escort and coordination
- Data centre facilities and infrastructure checks
- Powering up onboarded servers and equipment
- Data sanitisation and degaussing activities
- Routine operational checks
- Laptop and IT equipment management
- Provide operational support for activities conducted within data centres and secure rooms.
- Ensure all data centre procedures, policies and security requirements are strictly followed.
- Monitor, respond to and promptly escalate incidents in accordance with established incident response procedures.
- Track incidents through to complete resolution and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
- Prepare operational and incident reports for management.
- Support data centre activities and operational requirements as assigned by management.
- Perform additional duties as required to support business and operational needs.
- The successful candidate will be assigned to a different data centre each month, rotating between East and West Singapore locations.
Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data centre operations, preferably in a team-based environment.
- Experience working in a high-pressure, mission-critical environment with 24x7 operational or on-call support.
- Strong understanding of Incident, Problem and Change Management processes based on ITIL best practices.
- Experience supporting and coordinating with data centre vendors and outsourced service providers.
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively use in-house applications and operational systems.
- Strong multitasking, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams, vendors and stakeholders.
- Strong work ethic with a proactive and responsible approach to assigned tasks.
- Analytical and inquisitive mindset, with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in data centre operations within financial institutions is required.
