Trade Accountant - Commodities

about the company I am looking for a Trade Accountant to handle trade transactions and management reporting for commodity trading business. This role involves preparing daily trade P&L reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting smooth collaboration between trading, operations, and finance teams.

about the job

• Record and reconcile all trade-related transactions in commodity products, including recognition of sales, purchases, freight and other related expenses

• Prepare daily trade P&L and mark-to-market reports

• Ensure timely and accurate recording of invoices, payments and trade-related accruals or adjustments for month-end closing

• Maintain supporting documentation for intercompany transactions relating to commodity products to ensure compliance with transfer pricing requirements

• Collaborate with traders, operations and finance teams to support smooth business operations

• Maintain proper documentation to support the company’s Global Trader Programme (GTP) status

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and International

• Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

• Maintain audit readiness and attend to queries and requirements from internal and external auditors

about the manager/team CBD Report to Finance Manager

skills and experience required

• Experience in trade accounting within the commodity trading industry

• Good understanding of accounting principles and Incoterms

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
