Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior AI Engineer or AI Engineering Intern to take on existing AI projects. This role is ideal for a student or early-career technologist passionate about machine learning, generative AI, data engineering, and intelligent automation.

You’ll work with senior engineers to develop AI solutions, automate analytics, and help prototype AI solutions that improve the performance, reliability, and customer experience of our products.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves experimenting, learning fast, and turning ideas into functional AI tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, training, and evaluation of machine learning models for data analytics.
  • Support the creation of AI-driven tools, such as automated data processing, anomaly detection, predictive modeling, or code-assist tools for data workflows.
  • Help build prototypes using Python, ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn), or LLM frameworks (OpenAI, Hugging Face).
  • Work with teams to collect, clean, and analyze datasets from a variety of systems
  • Participate in the design and testing of AI-powered features for internal development tools.
  • Contribute to documentation, experiment tracking, and reporting, ensuring reproducibility and clarity across projects.
  • Collaborate a variety of teams to understand real-world engineering use cases for AI.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Python.
  • Knowledge of formatting data for ingestion by an LLM.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure.
  • Understanding of core concepts such as:
  • Machine learning fundamentals
  • Data preprocessing
  • Model evaluation metrics
  • Curiosity about LLMs, generative AI, and applied machine learning.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a willingness to explore new ideas and technologies.
  • Ability to communicate and diagram technical concepts clearly and work collaboratively with engineering teams.

Preferred (Not Required) Skills

  • Exposure to vehicle data, CAN logs, embedded datasets, or sensor signals.
  • Experience with Jupyter notebooks, ML Ops tools, or cloud compute environments.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, Python scripting for automation, or data visualization tools.
  • Projects, coursework, or personal experiments involving AI or data analysis.
