We’re looking for a Assistant Underwriter, Casualty Re

Based in Bermuda and reporting to the SVP, Head of Casualty Reinsurance, the successful applicant will have responsibility for supporting the administration and continued growth of Hamilton Re’s Casualty Reinsurance portfolio.  

Hamilton Re is our Bermuda insurer underwriting property, casualty and specialty insurance and reinsurance on a global basis.

What you will do

• Receive submissions, download information and set up new business and renewal files
• Assist with pricing, underwriting and quoting business
• Support business development efforts
• Conduct extensive review and analysis of submissions of insured operations, products and other coverage-relevant exposures
• Ensure timely login and accuracy of all underwriting data within the underwriting and other relevant business systems
• Assist in administration and management reporting of portfolios
• Contribute to system testing, ad hoc projects and research work
  

What you require for the role

• Experience in a similar role within the re/insurance industry
• Casualty Reinsurance experience preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
• Ability to work independently within a small team, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
