What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to own and evolve the quality engineering practice across the platform. This role spans the full testing spectrum—from end-to-end UI automation and API testing to CI/CD integration and performance validation. You’ll work across both a legacy v1 application and a modern v2 microapplication architecture, building a robust, scalable test infrastructure. This is not a siloed QA role. You’ll be embedded with the development team, shaping how quality is approached from design through deployment, with strong autonomy to assess, define, and build what’s needed. You will collaborate closely with the VP of Engineering and the broader team to establish testing standards, expand automation coverage, and integrate quality across the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Architecture
- Own and evolve the test automation strategy across v1 and v2 platforms
- Assess current coverage and define a roadmap for scalable quality engineering
- Design test frameworks and reusable patterns
- Establish testing standards, conventions, and best practices
- Evaluate and select appropriate tools and frameworks
End-to-End & UI Testing
- Build and maintain E2E test suites for critical user flows
- Develop UI automation for Angular/React (v1) and React/Mantine (v2)
- Create maintainable page object models and test utilities
- Validate responsiveness, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
API & Backend Testing
- Develop API test coverage for backend services and integrations
- Validate data integrity, error handling, and edge cases
- Build contract and integration tests
- Test database operations, migrations, and data pipelines
CI/CD & Test Infrastructure
- Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines with enforced quality gates
- Optimize test execution for speed and reliability
- Build reporting and visibility into test results
- Maintain test environments, fixtures, and seed data
Performance & Load Testing
- Design and execute performance and load tests
- Establish baselines and monitor regressions
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues with engineering teams
- Simulate real-world usage scenarios
Collaboration & Quality Culture
- Partner with developers to define test plans and acceptance criteria
- Participate in code reviews with a focus on testability and edge cases
- Promote a quality-first mindset across the team
- Contribute to sprint planning with test effort estimates
- Share best practices and support developers in writing tests
