About the Role:

This role sits on the web design team, part of the Creative Team at Notion. Our work exists to inform and inspire Notion users, both current and future. We tell the story of our offering in a way that reflects the products themselves: smart, refined, and with a dash of wit on the side.

As an Interaction Designer, you’ll operate on high-impact web initiatives: setting direction from early strategy through final execution, partnering closely with stakeholders and executives, and raising the bar for craft and systems. You’ll be asked to define approaches, create clarity, and influence both project outcomes and how the team works.

What You'll Achieve:

• Lead end-to-end design for major surfaces of Notion’s website, driving strategy, execution, and quality across multiple projects and timelines

• Write production code for Notion.com

• Build tooling that improves velocity and consistency for teammates across the company

• Mentor and raise the bar for other designers through feedback, critique, and patterns that make great work repeatable

Skills You'll Need to Bring:

• 10+ years experience in an agency or in-house environment, with demonstrated leadership on nebulous, complex, high-impact work

• A portfolio that demonstrates impactful design strategy, craft leadership, shipped outcomes, and tough no-ship calls that had to be made

• Deep commitment to typographic excellence, and sensitivity to the most minute details

• Excellent partnership skills: you can work hand-in-hand with cross-functional stakeholders across all levels of the business, create work that inspires and captivates, and build clarity in the problem space along the way

• Demonstrated ability to mentor others, raise the craft bar through both partnership and critique, and create leverage for the team

• You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results

Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $204,000-$228,000 per year.
