Senior Lead, Tech and Product Communications
Job Description
About Ramp
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $100B in annualized spend flows in and out of 50,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
About the Role
Ramp is one of the fastest-growing startups in history. Much of that comes down to how fast we build. Our engineers ship features in days. We built our own Lab. Our non-engineers ship production code. 99.5% of our team actively uses AI tools. We built every employee their own AI harness.
Now we need someone who can bring it all to life. That's you.
We're hiring a Senior Tech and Product Communications Lead to own how Ramp shows up across two audiences that rarely get served by the same person: AI-native builders and finance leaders. You'll shape how engineers and the tech community understand Ramp's technical ambitions. And you'll shape how VPs of Finance and CFOs understand what AI-powered financial infrastructure actually does for their business.
You'll own tech comms, product comms, and analyst relations. You should already have strong opinions about how Ramp shows up across all of these.
It's a broad remit. The areas overlap more than people think, but you'll still need to build your own AI tools to stay ahead of all of them.
This is a senior IC role reporting to the Head of Communications.
What You'll Do
Tech and product communications
Own Ramp's technical and product narrative. The story of what we build, how we build it, and why it matters for businesses and the economy.
Take complex technical work (AI infrastructure, engineering velocity, product innovation) and turn it into stories that engineers want to share and CFOs actually understand.
Build and run a launch engine with Product, Engineering, and Marketing that moves as fast as we ship.
Build your own AI tools and workflows for yourself and the team.
Get Ramp into the right rooms and the right publications. Build relationships with the journalists, creators, and voices that actually shape opinion for our audiences.
Work with Communications and Brand to make product news memorable via written, visual, and video formats.
Prepare executives and subject matter experts for media and speaking engagements.
Analyst relations
Build an AR program that earns strong positioning in our core categories and gets us into new ones.
Develop real relationships with key analysts and firms.
Prepare leadership for analyst interactions with sharp materials and messaging.
Bring analyst insights back inside. Feed them into comms, product marketing, sales enablement, product development.
What You Need
You've done tech and product comms at a high-growth or AI-native company. You know what it feels like when the product ships faster than comms can keep up.
You are genuinely fluent in AI. You're already using AI tools to do your job better and you can show us exactly how.
You move fast. We need someone who is wired for speed.
Your writing is clear, concise, and human. You write like people talk.
What would make you stand out:
You're motivated by where AI and finance are converging. Not as an abstract trend, but because you can see the specific ways it changes how businesses operate and you want to be part of telling that story.
You've worked somewhere the comms function had to be invented or reinvented, not just maintained.
Fair Warning
This role is not for someone who prefers an established playbook. It’s a true builder role.
It's not for someone who needs to be methodical before being experimental. We experiment first and systematize what works.
It's not for someone who finds comfort in a predictable pace. The pace here is genuinely uncomfortable. The right person finds that fun.
And if AI is something you've been meaning to get around to, we're not the place to start. You should be experimenting and building already.
