Proof of work

The team

Payward Services is Kraken's B2B2C platform — we power crypto infrastructure for banks, fintechs, and consumer brands that want to offer digital assets to their customers. Partners don't build from scratch; they plug into Kraken's regulated infrastructure and go to market faster.

The Partner Solutions team sits at the centre of our most complex partner engagements. When Sales opens the door, Partner Solutions figures out what's actually behind it — breaking down ambiguous goals, designing the full solution, and staying engaged through to launch.

The opportunity

  • Lead and build the Partner Solutions function — the team brought in on the hardest, most ambitious partner engagements

  • Own the end-to-end solution design process: from partner discovery and problem decomposition through to implementation oversight and go-live handoff

  • Shape how Payward Services goes to market — your team's pattern recognition across partner problems directly informs our propositions, packaging, and positioning

  • Architect full partner solutions across product scope, commercial model, operational structure, and regulatory design — not just the product layer

  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Engineering without needing hand-holding in any one domain

  • Co-author the Solution Blueprint alongside Solutions Engineering, giving Implementation everything needed to execute

  • Drive a clean handoff to Customer Success at go-live, so CSMs inherit a fully documented relationship

Skills you should HODL

  • Extensive experience in fintech partnerships, strategy consulting, solutions design, or partner operations — ideally in regulated financial services or platform businesses

  • Experience building and leading a team

  • Proven ability to take complex, ambiguous partner problems and break them into structured, actionable solutions

  • Track record of advising clients or partners through build decisions, helping them understand what they need, not just what you'll deliver

  • Commercial instinct — you can model fee economics, pressure-test deal structures, and recognise when something doesn't pencil

  • Operator mindset — you think about how things work day-to-day, not just how they look in a contract

  • Strong cross-functional fluency across legal, compliance, product, and engineering

  • Comfort with ambiguity — many of the playbooks don't exist yet, and you'll be writing them

Nice to haves

  • Experience in crypto, digital assets, or embedded finance

  • Background working with regulated financial products (banking, payments, lending)

  • Familiarity with licensing structures and regulatory frameworks across key markets

Kraken is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate all Krakenites for their diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions and unique perspectives. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgable about crypto!

We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process.
