Product Manager – Merchant Billing, Settlement & Reconciliation
Job Description
Responsibility 1. Billing System Design & Optimization · Needs Analysis: Participate in requirements gathering for the merchant billing system. Analyze cross-border merchant needs for billing formats, multi-currency views, automated reconciliation, etc., and produce product requirement documents (PRDs). · Product Design: Define billing generation rules (e.g., transaction details, fee breakdowns, FX conversion), billing delivery methods (API/email/merchant dashboard), and automated reconciliation processes (e.g., discrepancy tagging). · Settlement Rules Implementation: Based on cross-border settlement logic (e.g., revenue sharing, refunds, fund consolidation), design settlement statement templates that align with bank or third-party provider data. Qualifications 1. Education & Industry Knowledge · Degree: Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. · Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with core cross-border payment flows and settlement rules (e.g., revenue-sharing models like 7:2:1, FX locking mechanisms). 2. Core Skills · Tool Proficiency: Heavy user of AIGC tools for research, PRD generation, diagrams, and videos. Proficient in prototyping tools (Axure/Figma) and AI-powered data analysis tools. · Technical Understanding: Understanding of payment system architecture (e.g., ledger systems, clearing engines) and familiarity with API logic. 3. Experience & Soft Skills · Experience: 1–2 years of internship or work experience in the payments or financial sector; experience with billing or reconciliation systems is preferred. · Personal Traits: Detail-oriented (e.g., preventing miscalculations in funds), strong logical thinking (e.g., breaking down complex settlement rules), and able to work under pressure (e.g., during month-end/quarter-end settlement cycles). 4. Nice-to-Haves · Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent), capable of reading international payment specifications (e.g., VISA clearing rules). · Technical Advantage: Familiarity with blockchain applications in cross-border settlements or basic Python scripting for automation.
