About The Team

We’ve recently launched our Options trading platform, already operating at ~$700M+ daily volume. We are now entering the most critical phase: stabilisation, product-market fit, and scaling to 4× over the next 2 years.

This role is not about building from scratch. It’s about turning a high-potential but fragile system into a high-trust, high-scale trading platform.

You will own the core trading experience — execution reliability, latency, liquidity experience, and system integrity — directly impacting trader P&L and platform revenue.

What You'll Do

The key responsibilities for this role would be to -

1. Platform Trust

• Drive >99.5% order success rate during peak trading
• Ensure low-latency execution (P95 < 100ms)
• Eliminate critical trading incidents 2. Execution Quality

• Reduce slippage (TP/SL) by 25–40%
• Improve fill rates and spread quality
• Enhance real execution fairness for traders 3. Scale Without Breakage

• Scale platform from $700M → $1.5B+ ADV without degradation
• Handle volatility spikes, market events, and peak loads 4. Trader Retention Loop

• Improve repeat trader behaviour (WTU retention)
• Build systems that make traders stay and trust the platform 5. Risk & System Integrity

• Ensure accurate liquidation, margin, and Greeks computation
• Prevent system-induced P&L loss scenarios 6. Team & Velocity

• Build a high-ownership, high-velocity team
• Improve release confidence & observability
• Establish playbooks for trading events and incidents 7. Team Leadership

• Lead a high-performing backend team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.

You’ll Excel in This Role If You Have

• Experience building or scaling high-throughput, low-latency systems
• Strong understanding of trading systems / exchanges / order matching / market microstructure
• Proven ability to own business-critical metrics (not just delivery)
• Experience handling real-time systems under load (1000s TPS)
• Strong product sense - ability to connect engineering decisions → trader experience
• Strong leadership skills with experience leading high-performing teams of 8–10+ members.
