Database Engineer - Azure migration (JD#11044)

Job Summary

We are looking for a Database Engineer to support SQL Server and MySQL database migrations to Azure while ensuring database performance, availability, backup/recovery, and incident resolution in a managed services environment.

Mandatory Skill-set

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in relational database administration with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL;
• Experience in database migration, backup & recovery, performance tuning, and Azure database services (Azure SQL / Managed Instance);
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills in enterprise database environments;
• Good communication, stakeholder management, and ability to work effectively in high-pressure, client-focused environments;
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science (or equivalent), with Azure/SQL/MySQL certifications being an added advantage.

Desired Skill-set

• Experience with database automation, scripting, multi-cloud environments, and database migration tools such as DMS and native utilities.

Responsibilities

• Support migration of SQL Server and MySQL databases from on-premise to Azure environments;
• Perform database assessment, migration planning, validation, testing, and post-migration support;
• Administer, monitor, maintain, and optimize database performance, backup, and recovery processes;
• Troubleshoot database issues, resolve incidents within SLA timelines, and support high availability/disaster recovery activities;
• Ensure compliance with ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management;
• Collaborate with migration teams, infrastructure engineers, and stakeholders while contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing.
