Junior Accountant (GL) (West)

Job Responsibilities

• Compiles and analyses financial data to prepare journal entries and record business transactions.
• Prepares profit and loss statements, monthly closing reports, and cost accounting summaries.
• Performs general ledger account reconciliations with detailed line items and supporting documentation.
• Maintains and implements appropriate accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Reviews and analyses budgets and actual expenditures.
• Recommends appropriate budget levels and ensures adherence to expenditure controls.
• Monitors accounting systems and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Analyses and communicates trends and variances in revenue, expenses, and balance sheet accounts.
• Collaborates with business units and the controller group to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Develops, maintains, and recommends improvements to financial databases, software systems, and manual records.
• Supports internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and clarification.

Job Requirements

• Degree holder in Accountancy/ACCA
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience including General Ledger
• Knowledge in Oracle financials module will have added advantageous
• Proficient in MS Excel
