GNC Engineer
Job Description
As a GNC Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical design, test, deployment, and operation of Kepler’s Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) platforms. You will work with a team team to develop the algorithms, analyses, simulation elements, test platforms, tools and documentation that guarantee the performance, reliability and availability of Kepler spacecraft attitude and orbit control systems. You will interface with cross functional teams to maintain exceptional performance of Keppler’s spacecraft; ensuring that the GNC platform adheres to key performance metrics and supports payload operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analysis of attitude determination and control systems and supporting tools

Scope capabilities and requirements for the GNC system

Maintain Software in the Loop, Hardware in the Loop frameworks

Maintain analysis tools
-
Accommodate sensors and actuators capable of meeting project objectives

Analyze platform stability to ensure low jitter for line-of-sight instruments

Analyze the controller performance of flexible spacecraft

Various first principles derived analyses
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (physics, electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering).

3 - 6 years of relevant experience.

Strong understanding of aerospace and engineering fundamentals.

Strong understanding of spacecraft control and determination.

Experience with developing and maintaining software and hardware in the loop test setups.

Strong understanding of orbital mechanics, classical dynamics and the low-earth orbit environment.

Experience with flexible body control, orbital maneuvering, sensor filtering, fault management, software development, and navigation filtering.

Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
