BMS Engineer (Flow battery systems)
Job Description
Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications
We are looking for a Research engineer to develop and test C-based BMS firmware invanadium flow battery systems. Support real-time monitoring, PLC/HMI/IoT integration, battery testing, and SIT/VPP execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain C-based BMS firmware.
- Support battery testing, hardware evaluation, test case development, real-time PLC/HMI monitoring, IoT features, and project execution for SIT and VPP deployments.
Job Requirements:
- MSc or Bachelor in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with strong hands-on experience in embedded C/C++ firmware development for BMS or energy storage systems.
- Proficiency in Python, STM32/Keil/STM32CubeIDE, Linux, TIA (PLC & HMI), battery testing, and communication protocols (UART/SPI/I2C/CAN);
- Prior internship or project experience in BMS, IoT, or renewable energy preferred.
