URGENT: Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (PhD) (R&D/Laser/Optics))

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of precision structures and assemblies for laser and optics systems
• Drive full-cycle development from concept, detailed design, prototyping to system integration
• Perform engineering analysis including structural, thermal, flow, and tolerance studies
• Define mechanical requirements and ensure design performance and accuracy
• Lead prototype build, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (optics, laser systems, research scientists)
• Work with suppliers to ensure precision engineering requirements are met
• Contribute to R&D innovation in advanced precision engineering technologies

Requirements

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with 3+ years R&D experience
• Strong foundation in mechanical design, materials, and engineering principles
• Experience in precision mechanical design and complex problem-solving
• Proficiency in Creo or SolidWorks
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Passion for advanced technology and innovation
• Strong team player with good communication skills
