Senior Accountant Team Leader (Full-Set Accounting)

Our client is an independently owned Maritime Catering Organization. They are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, and experienced Senior Accountant Team Leader to join their finance team. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, lead and guide the accounting team, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate should possess strong reporting function exposure and full-set accounting experience, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

JOB DIMENSION (SCOPE)

• Lead and supervise the accounting team in daily accounting operations and ensure smooth workflow execution.
• Handle and oversee full-set accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), bank reconciliation, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports, management accounts, schedules, and analysis reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor cash flow and bank balances to ensure sufficient funding for operational requirements.
• Review journal entries, balance sheet schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning activities.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, vendors, and internal stakeholders on finance and accounting matters.
• Support GST reporting, tax matters, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Provide guidance, support, and training to junior finance team members.
• Handle ad-hoc finance, reporting, and accounting assignments as required by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma / Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including reporting function and full-set accounting experience.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, GST, reconciliations, and accounting processes.
• Good understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and corporate governance practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel, and accounting systems/ERP software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
