Financial Data Analyst (Data Reporting & SQL), contract role

Our client, a global technology leader specializing in search, digital platforms, cloud computing, and data-driven innovation, is looking for a Financial Analyst who will support core FP&A processes, including financial modelling, data analysis, reporting, and dashboard automation to drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
This is a fixed term contract ending on the 14 Dec 2026 with potential for extension.
Responsibilities
- Extract, transform, and analyse financial data using SQL from data warehouses and ERP systems
- Build and maintain financial datasets, data models, and reporting tables to support finance and business reporting
- Develop automated dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- Support recurring financial reporting and ad-hoc analysis requests from Finance and business stakeholders
- Identify data inconsistencies and work with relevant teams to improve data quality and integrity
- Support automation of manual reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability
- Translate business questions into data queries and actionable insights
- Work with Finance, Data Engineering, and BI teams to enhance reporting infrastructure and metrics definitions
Requirements
- 3-4+ years experience in Finance, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related roles
- Strong hands-on SQL experience (data extraction, joins, aggregations, validation)
- Experience working with large datasets in data warehouses or ERP systems (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, SAP, Oracle)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret financial or business data
- Experience with Excel and BI tools (Power BI / Tableau / Looker preferred)
- Understanding of financial metrics (P&L, revenue, cost, performance tracking) is a plus
