In-House Legal Counsel (6-10PQE; Listed FI)

Our client is an established financial institution with a significant presence in Asia Pacific. They have consistently recorded a strong financial performance and are well-positioned to achieve their growth plans for the region. They are looking for an experienced In-House Corporate Legal Council to join the existing team in Singapore.

Responsibilities: -

• Manage legal and financial risk exposure throughout the business and in all contact negotiations and corporate transactions
• Create streamlined processes for contract negotiations
• Create streamlined and simplified processes for the provision of support to all other areas of the company
• Build critical relationships to effectively provide practical and strategic advice to assist the business in meeting its objectives, while ensuring compliance with applicable law.
• Advise on recommended courses of action and legal risk, with the ability to judge when to escalate identified issues as appropriate.

Requirements: -

• Qualified lawyer. With 6-10 years' PQE either with a law firm or in-house.
• Experience reviewing, negotiating, creating and managing contracts with customers, partners, resellers, etc, to protect the interest and risk of the company and to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Proven track record and ability to work in a high-pressure sale-driven revenue generation environment with prompt and accurate responses to questions and production of work product.
• Evidence of taking ownership and ability to prioritise and deal with a wide range of business requirements, as well as usual activities at the same time to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify and effectively communicate legal information.
• Work with a high level of integrity and responsibility.
