Probe Engineer
Job Description
Key Responsibilities 1.Own and maintain wafer probe (CP) test specifications, limits, and methodologies for MEMS microphone products across development and high-volume production. 2.Analyze wafer probe data using statistical methods to: o Define and refine test limits and guardbands o Monitor Cp/Cpk, distributions, and parametric drift 3.Monitor and manage: o Wafer yield performance o Identify abnormal wafer maps, outliers, and distribution shifts o SBL (Statistical Bin Limits) and SYL (Statistical Yield Limits) 4.Work closely with foundry to: o Review probe data and ensure test integrity o Monitor daily production trends and address issues promptly 5.Support both New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining products: o Analyze characterization data o Define initial test limits and continuously refine based on production data 6.Maintain and support probe hardware and setup: o Work with Cascade probers and Keysight B1500 o Ensure measurement repeatability, stability, and data integrity 7.Develop and use automation tools (Excel VBA, Python, or equivalent) to: o Analyze large datasets efficiently o Generate wafer maps, trend charts, and automated reports
- Prepare clear technical reports and communicate findings to internal teams and management.
- Drive test time reduction and cost optimization by analyzing high-volume wafer probe data and performing correlation and sensitivity studies to identify redundant or low-value test parameters, and implement optimized test flows without compromising product quality or yield integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in: o Wafer probe / CP / parametric testing o Semiconductor or MEMS products
- Hands-on experience with: o Cascade probers o Keysight B1500 (or similar parametric measurement systems)
- Solid understanding of: o Parametric testing (IV, leakage, resistance, capacitance, etc.) o Wafer-level data analysis and yield interpretation
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods: o SPC, Cp/Cpk o Distribution analysis and outlier detection o Practical experience in data-driven test limit setting
- Experience with: o SBL / SYL implementation and monitoring
- Basic programming/scripting skills: o Excel VBA, Python, or equivalent
- Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes; familiarity with MEMS device characteristics is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Fluent in Chinese and the ability to work independently to effectively manage China foundry interactions.
- Good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
