Mechanical Engineer, $4,500 (Woodlands)

Location: Woodlands (Near MRT)

Salary: $3,800 - $4,500

Working hours: 8.30am to 5.30pm (Mon to Fri)

Responsibilities

• Work closely with customers and overseas engineering teams on new bellows assembly designs and applications.
• Review customer specifications and technical requirements to evaluate product feasibility, costing, and tooling requirements.
• Design new mechanical products using SolidWorks 3D CAD and perform FEA simulations.
• Develop jigs and fixtures to support prototype and production requirements.
• Define manufacturing processes and prepare production routing for shop floor operations.
• Prepare and release engineering drawings for prototype development and mass production.
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including First Article Inspection (FAI) builds and process improvement actions.
• Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing in ERP systems.
• Conduct product validation and testing according to design specifications and customer requirements.
• Liaise with vendors on prototype fabrication, testing, and product improvements.
• Coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and ensure smooth implementation with internal teams.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement (CIP), Kaizen, and cost reduction projects.
• Evaluate alternative materials, designs, and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce cost.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in mechanical product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with jig & fixture design.
• Proficient in SolidWorks 3D modelling and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is required.
• Familiar with machining and stamping fabrication processes.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Welding knowledge in GTAW & PAW processes will be an advantage.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is a plus.
