Senior Legal Counsel (Financial Sevices)

A well-established financial services institution with an international footprint across Asia, Europe and the US is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its Singapore-based legal team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded legal professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and partnering closely with internal stakeholders across business, operations and compliance functions.

This role will start off on a 1-year contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial and legal documentation, including confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts and product-related documents
• Provide legal support on business transactions and strategic initiatives from documentation through execution
• Coordinate with internal teams and external counterparties to manage timelines and completion of legal deliverables
• Maintain contract repositories, legal records and document management processes
• Conduct legal and regulatory research relating to Singapore financial services laws and regulations
• Advise internal stakeholders on day-to-day legal queries across business and operational matters
• Support legal operations, including billing administration, scheduling and matter tracking

Requirements:

• Singapore-qualified lawyer with at least 6 years’ post-qualification experience
• Prior experience within a bank, brokerage, investment firm or other regulated financial institution preferred
• Strong familiarity with Singapore financial regulatory frameworks, including capital markets and corporate legislation
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Confident communicator with strong drafting and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and standard legal documentation tools
