Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated R&D / New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to support the development and industrialization of advanced optoelectronic and sensor-based products. This role bridges product design, engineering development, and manufacturing readiness, ensuring smooth transition from concept to mass production.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including design engineering, process engineering, quality, and production to bring next-generation sensing and optical technologies into scalable manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from prototype stage through to mass production release

• Collaborate with R&D teams on design feasibility, manufacturability (DFM/DFA), and process optimization

• Develop and refine assembly processes for optoelectronic modules and sensor-based systems

• Conduct product validation, reliability testing, and failure analysis during development cycles

• Work with suppliers and internal teams on component qualification and technical alignment

• Drive process capability improvement to meet yield, cost, and quality targets

• Prepare engineering documentation including process flow, work instructions, and technical reports

• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions for production issues

• Ensure smooth transfer of technology from R&D to manufacturing floor

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance and manufacturability

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related discipline

• Experience in R&D, NPI, or Product/Process Engineering within optoelectronics, sensors, semiconductor, or precision manufacturing industries

• Strong understanding of optoelectronic components (e.g., optical sensors, imaging systems, photonics modules, MEMS, or related technologies)

• Familiarity with product development lifecycle and NPI processes in a manufacturing environment

• Experience with yield improvement, process validation, or reliability testing is highly preferred

• Strong analytical skills with ability to perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis

• Ability to work in cross-functional, fast-paced engineering environment

• Good communication and documentation skills
