Role:
As an Inventory Specialist at Northwood, you will be an integral part of our Supply Chain team, ensuring that materials, hardware, and components flow seamlessly through our Torrance manufacturing facility. You’ll play a key role in enabling rapid production and deployment of our systems, maintaining precision and reliability across all inventory operations.
We operate in a lean, transparent, high-trust environment that rewards initiative and adaptability. You’ll work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and operations to ensure our inventory systems scale with our growth.
Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and store raw materials, parts, and hardware to support manufacturing and R&D operations
Pick, organize, and stage components to keep production running efficiently and ensure build accuracy.
Verify incoming materials for conformity, quantity, part numbers, and damage-free condition
Maintain strict material handling and traceability practices
Monitor shelf-life storage and perform stock rotations to ensure part integrity
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventories
Record all inventory movements and transactions in our ERP system with attention to detail
Support inventory replenishment and continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain team
Perform cycle counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records
Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with safety standards
Basic Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with computer software, including spreadsheets, email, and resource planning programs
Understanding of inventory and kitting processes
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to stand for extended periods (4–6 hours/day) and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of inventory control or warehouse experience
Experience operating forklifts and related inventory equipment
Familiarity with Manufacturo or other manufacturing software (ERP/MRP)
Experience in fast-paced, high-growth, or startup environments
Prior experience in aerospace, electronics, or related manufacturing fields
