This role includes driving business performance within the financial services sector, ensuring effective execution of strategic objectives, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Company's business strategy and objectives. 
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure efficient business performance. 
  • Monitor business activities, financial performance, and budgeting processes. 
  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of compliance and risk awareness. 
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
  • Act as a key point of contact with relevant authorities and ensure timely and accurate reporting. 
  • Collaborate with internal control functions, including audit and risk, to ensure robust governance and oversight. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders. 
  • Oversee outsourcing arrangements and ensure appropriate controls are in place. 
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies and action plans. 
  • Prepare regular reports for senior stakeholders, including the Board and shareholders. 
  • Stay informed on regulatory developments and industry best practices, assessing business impact where necessary. 
  • Lead and support a team of professionals across business functions.

Requirements:

  • Higher education (university degree). 
  • At least 5 years of experience in the financial services sector, including a minimum of 3 years in managerial roles. 
  • Recent experience in retail financial services (preferable brokerage and/or derivatives products). 
  • Experience of being approved by financial regulators for senior management roles is considered as an advantage. 
  • A strong knowledge of local financial services regulations and requirements, including relevant securities laws, regulatory frameworks, corporate governance standards, and AML/CFT standards, where applicable. 
  • Strong commercial expertise, with the skills and experience requires to lead the sales and business development team and achieving KPIs. 
  • Demonstrated professional integrity and a strong ethical track record. 
  • No dismissal in the past 3 years for insufficient qualifications or competency-related reasons. 
  • No senior governance or audit role in an organization that was subject to compulsory liquidation due to financial distress within the 12 months prior to such decision. 
  • Meets standard “fit and proper” criteria applicable to regulated financial services roles. 
  • No concurrent roles with other regulated entities or organisations that may give rise to conflicts of interest at the time of hire. 
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities. 
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience driving business growth and achieving KPIs. 
  • Capable of managing complex projects, processes, and stakeholder relationships. 
  • High level of accountability, initiative, and collaboration. 
  • Fluency in English.
