Senior Program Engineer
Job Description
The Senior Program Engineer (Operations) is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and support of infrastructure across AWS cloud and on-premises environments, including network systems. This role combines infrastructure engineering and service desk operations, ensuring: High system availability, performance, and compliance Effective incident response and user support Seamless programme delivery across PMO systems The engineer will work across servers, virtualisation platforms, cloud services, and network infrastructure, while also contributing to infrastructure modernisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- L1 Operations & Support
Provide L1 support for PMO-PSB systems (remote & onsite, 24/7 standby roster). Respond to user requests, operational alerts, and cybersecurity incidents. Support system verification testing post patching/maintenance cycles. Co-manage centralized monitoring dashboards and alerting systems. Support change management processes using service management platforms. Maintain and update Operations & Maintenance (O&M) playbooks. Prepare and submit operational reports and updates.2. Service Delivery Management
Ensure patch management across applications, servers, and infrastructure. Manage backup, recovery, redundancy, and disaster recovery processes. Oversee lifecycle management of IT assets (expiry, renewal, disposal). Ensure application and system availability (planned & unplanned maintenance). Monitor and manage SLA/OLA compliance. Implement infrastructure and change requests (hands-on). Drive continuous improvement of system resilience and support capabilities.
- Programme Delivery & OperationsSupport solution design, integration, implementation, testing, and commissioning. Ensure systems are secure-by-design and compliant with policies/standards. Maintain technical and programme documentation. Support governance activities, including: Security and privacy risk management Compliance and audit readiness Configuration and inventory management Change and incident management Provision, configure, harden, monitor, and administer systems and cloud infrastructure. Collaborate across programmes to optimize system integration and dependencies. Identify and drive improvements in operational efficiency and delivery. Qualifications & Experience Education Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in: Computer Science Information Technology Computer Engineering Related fields Experience Minimum 5 years in IT Operations or Service Delivery. Hands-on experience with: IT infrastructure (servers, network, cloud) Incident and service management Exposure to software development lifecycle (SDLC) is advantageous. Experience managing SLA/OLA-driven environments.Technical Skills (Desirable)
Experience in one or more of the following: Programming: C#, Java, JavaScript DevOps / DevSecOps practices Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure Virtualisation technologies Database and storage systems Middleware and application services Cybersecurity (hardening, vulnerability management) Windows/Linux server administration Networking and infrastructure System integration AI technologies (basic exposure) Other Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Effective communication and stakeholder engagement Good documentation and administrative skills Ability to work independently and in team environments Familiarity with project management methodologies Certifications (Preferred) ITIL Other infrastructure/cloud/security certifications are advantageous
